Bluescope Upgrade Project

Bluescope engaged well-renowned Engineering Group, Fredon, to facilitate the upgrade project of their Western Sydney plant, including a new Metal Coating Line. As part of the overall works, a 3-phase isolation transformer was required, and Fredon knew just where to get the best.

Earlier this year, Southern Electronic Services designed and built a 415V (±2.5%, ±5%) 300kVA isolation transformer for Fredon, to act as a UPS bypass for maintenance and safety purposes..

The new facility will be an extension of Bluescope’s existing Coil Paint Line, not only providing Bluescope with improved local manufacturing capability, but also providing many local employment opportunities. The product being produced in this new facility is Zincalume, used for Bluescopes’ famous Colorbond product as well as others.

Southern Electronic Services is a small, family-owned manufacturing company in Dandenong South, Victoria, and we here at SES are always amazed at the scale of the projects that our transformers go into. It is truly amazing and humbling to us, that companies as large as Fredon and Bluescope choose SES for their transformers.
